How to Choose your First Yoga Mat

So, you have decided to take on yoga. It can be a satisfying activity which for beginners will require a few reminders. Expect to sweat a lot during the sessions so drinking a lot of water before is a must. While doing the exercise, you are supposed to sip water and not take in a lot of it; it can make the person nauseated. It is better to come on an empty stomach. A very light snack up to two hours before the session will be best. Needless to say, proper workout clothes are in order.

Depending on where you do your exercises, you may or may not have to bring your own yoga mat. Most locations provide yoga pilates mats for free while others rent them out at a reasonable price. It makes sense to bring your own yoga mat for financial and hygienic reasons. You don’t need to buy an expensive yoga mat especially if you are not sure if you will stick with the yoga thing. However, you should make sure that your choice provides enough cushioning and traction.
